How the Glowing Garden brought light to winter
336,000+ visitors across three Iulius malls — and what large-scale light art means for malls, cities and resorts.
When winter arrives, outdoor spaces often go quiet. Days grow shorter, temperatures drop, and public plazas and commercial avenues lose the energy of the warmer months. At Coco Agency, we see those dark winter months differently: as a blank canvas.
During our winter 2024–2025 tour across Iulius Mall Timișoara, Cluj-Napoca and Palas Iași, we set out to prove that winter nights can be the most magical time of the year. Our Glowing Garden exhibition brought warmth and light to more than 336,000 visitors.
The magic in numbers
Transforming thousands of square metres into an illuminated fairytale takes vision, technical precision and serious scale. Our production and design teams deployed:
5,000 custom lighting installations — ambient pathways, brilliant canopy lighting and warm visual corridors.
300 light sculptures and artworks — glowing flora, majestic wildlife and interactive figures for children and adults alike.
3 premier locations — Iulius Mall destinations in Timișoara, Cluj-Napoca and Iași.
Families gathered under glowing archways, couples strolled through illuminated gardens, and social media filled with visitors’ photos and videos.
Beyond the lights: value for venue owners
We design our light exhibitions as complete, turnkey solutions to one seasonal question: how do you keep spaces active, engaging and profitable during dark winter evenings?
Shopping malls and commercial hubs. The Glowing Garden turned unused outdoor plazas and promenades into regional destinations, drawing visitors who stayed longer and shopped more.
Municipalities and city parks. We offer fully managed, low-energy LED light parks that revitalise parks, botanical gardens and city centres — a family-friendly winter festival without the operational hassle.
Resorts, hotels and holiday villages. A bespoke outdoor light trail gives guests an exclusive evening activity on property, with high satisfaction, social media buzz and an edge in the off-peak season.
